Katie Lancaster is a singer-songwriter originating from Atlanta, Georgia. Coming from two musical parents, Katie is a "family-taught" musician who has written more than 50 songs since learning a few chords on her acoustic guitar at the age of 14. Katie began her singing career in Georgia at local venues including the well-known Eddie's Attic in Decatur and The Melting Point in Athens. She has spent the last 3 years in Chicago taking advantage of Uncommon Ground's open mic nights and making several appearances at The Kerryman. Some of Katie's songs are inspired by personal experience, but many are written about the experiences of her friends and family. She says, "I know people that have gone through harder or happier things than I have. I don't want to be naive to an emotion or an experience just because it didn't happen to me. I want to feel all of the feelings and I want everyone to be able to connect to at least one line in one of my songs. That's always the goal."
